From the Valhalla Brewery in Unst, comes Island Bere. This ale is made mainly from BERE and as far as we know, it is the first time BERE has been used as the main ingredient in commercial brewing.

A quality beer brewed from bere - a heritage that Vikings are thought to have introduced to Britain in the 8th century. With an ABV of 4.2%, Island Bere is a golden bitter ale with cascade hops which gives it a nice blackcurrant/liquorice aftertaste.
